Dakar, then and now

While the Paris-Dakar created by Thierry Sabine has evolved considerably since its inception in 1979, the concept of an extraordinary rally-raid adventure has remained. Alongside the ‘modern’ event, ASO, now responsible for its organisation, created the Dakar Classic, celebrating the cars that have marked the history of the Dakar. Based on regularity rather than outright speed, the Dakar Classic inspired BMA to develop a Porsche 911 Paris-Dakar similar to the cars driven at the time by Jacky Ickx and Claude Brasseur, among others. A way to perpetuate the tradition and the legend while taking on the vast landscapes of the United Arab Emirates.

Range

The BMA Porsche 911 Paris-Dakar was designed specifically to meet the demands of an event such as the Dakar Classic. Dedicated spare wheel storage, specific tools and modified fuel tanks providing greater range in the desert: this 911 not only brings back some great memories, but also gives its crews the opportunity to fight for a strong result in the famous January event, as well as in other rally-raid events dedicated to the legendary cars of the past.

All-terrain

When developing the Porsche 911 Paris-Dakar, BMA paid particular attention to the suspension and tyre setup, ensuring that the entire package is adapted to all types of terrain encountered on the Dakar, from vast expanses of sand to rocky and demanding crossing sections.

Dune eater

Just like the competitors in the Dakar, Dakar Classic crews take on the Empty Quarter, a region where there is absolutely nothing… except endless sand and dunes. With its specific four-wheel-drive system, the Porsche 911 Paris-Dakar is built to conquer these areas, where the terrain can quickly become a formidable trap.
